Change

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said: “You never step in the same river twice.” By the time you take that second step, the river has already changed composition – a slightly different undercurrent, grains of sand that have been moved, a different composition of minerals – to name a few. You have also changed: you are not the same as when you took that first step. So we see a river, and we are the same person. But both the river and the person have changed. In short: change is the only constant.

Team coaching

A team coaching trajectory consists mainly of three phases: analysing group dynamics, diving into the undertow and creating space for inclusive decision making.

The first phase is all about scratching the surface. During this time, the group will start to get to know each other as the people behind the colleagues. What drives you individually? And what drives you as a team? How have you handled challenges before? And how would you like to handle them in the future? Here, the first steps towards finding your flow are being made.

The second phase is about the undertow. An organisation is more than the sum of its parts. Each team acts as a unit, with its own dynamics. We will analyze the logic of the team’s subconscious, and see what needs to be improved.

And during the third and final phase, we will make our way back up by installing the necessary skills for inclusive decision making. Regardless of the job function, in every organisation it should be people first. I will support you in creating structures that will deepen your relationships, long after the end of the trajectory. The key message here is that conflicts are constructive, and necessary for growth.

Constellations

A constellation is a method based in systemic work. This means that the relations between people and evenets is centre stage, not the individual.

There are basically two types of constellations: family and organisation. With family constellations, we examine the relations within the system of origin. With organisation constellations, the relations within a professional system are examined

Constellations help us to zoom out and access information that is stored in the subconsciousness of the system. Doing a constellation will allow you to literally see the bigger picture. Everything that needs to be seen, will show itself. At exactly the right time. This also means it is impossible to hold a timer next to a constellation process. it is simply finished when it is finished.

By embracing the system logic, we gain valuable insights that transcend our individual lives. This allows us to take our place in the bigger scheme of things.

Moderator

In my role as moderator, I strive to support others in sharing their stories. Enabling other people to do that is a conversational art in and of itself.

As moderator, it is my responsibility to provide a base level support in the form a safe(r) space, by setting healthy boundaries. And to make clear that all voices are worth being heard. My interventions are aimed at facilitating a dialogue, with listening at centre stage. Due to my ambivert personality (in between introvert and extravert) I know how to move with the flow of an audience.

Occassions I have moderated so far, are:

– After talks in theatre
– Brainstorm sessions

– Intervision sessions
– Awaydays

Support your next dialogue sessions by engaging with a contemporary voice.

Change management

Today’s world is facing increasing inequality, political destabilization, rising conservatism, the consequences of climate change, war and genocide, acidification of our oceans, the decline of our biodiversity, and so on.

Despite all these signals, we as a society continue to cling to old models of linear growth and increasing prosperity. Models that are at the expense of the planet and ourselves. With a growing call for change as a result.

Now is the time for organisations to connect: connect with the people who make up your organisation, with today’s society and with the world that can be.

Approach

When you say Joey, you say change.

My specialty is transforming people, teams and organisations from within. I support you in breaking patterns, which creates space for the emerging future. Which not only changes you and your organisation, but also the system you are part of.

Please note, I am talking about actual change here. Innovation, making an organisation more efficient and creating more profit are important aspects of management. However, this is not change, but improvement.

Sources

I bring someting new. For this I draw inspiration from the following sources:
– Social sciences
– Stakeholder management
– Strategy building
– Value driven organisations
– Theory U

In addition to these formal sources, I also have a unique perspective: I am colorful, queer and young. My being different will help you in the transformation. Because if you really want change, why would you go for more of the same?

Practical info

Every change process is made to measure. Every change process is intervention-oriented; with a beginning and an end. And every change process has a specific goal. My going rate as an agent of change is €250* per hour.
