Inclusion

Our societies are becoming increasingly diverse. Many people and organisations want to handle this well, but simply do not know how. With a practical and people-oriented approach, I support teams and leaders in developing awareness, skills and behaviors that contribute to an inclusive culture.

This programme focuses on creating equal opportunities, breaking down unconscious biases and strengthening collaboration between people with different backgrounds and perspectives. This enables organisations to build an environment where everyone feels seen, heard and valued.

Training Create Inclusion

Inclusion is a verb. Too often I come across organisations that have good intentions, but lack the tools to incorporate inclusivity principles at the heart of what they do. Having a D&I-statement on the website is great, but it is not going to do the work.

You have to do the work. Based on my own experience as a queer person of color, I can honestly tell you that the path towards inclusivity starts with one simple question: are you willing to look in the mirror and face what you see? Self-reflection leads to having in-depth conversations. Which could refresh group dynamics. And in turn could lead to a change in culture. With this training you will make the first steps in turning your organisation into a place where talent feels at home.

Consultancy

Inclusion is more than a good intention. It is a choice for change. Realizing an inclusive organisation requires a transformation to the core.

As an inclusion advisor, I strive to make myself redundant. The goal is the equip you with the tools to make your organisation more inclusive yourself, so you can create and maintain diversity.

During a kick-off meeting, we jointly lay the foundation for the process to follow. Expressing expectations is crucial at this stage: to have an idea of the road ahead.

Once the trajectory has formally started, I map out how policies, processes and culture contribute to – or hinder – inclusion. In doing so, I look both at the numbers as well as people’s experiences.

Based on this analysis, I develop practical and tailored advice. This advice can cover a wide range of topics: recruitment and selection, leadership, social safety, etc. Regardless of the content, this advice will always be intervention-oriented. Because without action, there is no change.

I understand that inclusion sometimes raises questions and can cause friction. My attitude will therefore always be open, with room for dialogue and reflection. Only in this way can I enable you to create a culture in which differences are not only accepted, but actually utilized as a strength. So you can move towards a future-proof organisation.
